PHOTO: Kochi - Attappadi - Coonoor

When you don't have a destination, travel becomes easy and relaxed. You're not chasing anything but enjoying. There's no hurry, no missing deadlines, or Mona Lisa-pose; Road becomes you, and you become the road.

I've traveled from Kochi to Coonoor and back earlier this week. And we choose the road less traveled. A 4:00 AM start from Kochi, connecting Palakkad, Attappadi, Mully, Manjoor, Coonoor, Coimbatore, and ended in Kochi 19 hours later.

The only hotel in Aanamooli that serves breakfast. "We don't have a lot of visitors, but when we do, it's from Kochi," said the owner of this restaurant. Behind that curtain is an old fashioned kitchen that serves Beef roast and Appam.
Attappadi: Don't get decieved by the lack of depth in this photo. The greenery is spread spread kilometers, as far the eyes can see.
Attappadi. This field is an invitation to the gorge beyond that tree.

Attappadi. The river is preparing for a long dry summer.
We are approaching Coonoor.
A school in Coonoor town. This school was eastablished in 1912 and it still houses children.
Coonoor town. You can't find a lot of difference in the shabby colors of Nilgiri towns. They all look the same.
Brookfields Mall in Coimbatore. Don't fall in the tourist trap at Food Court. They will not refund your 20 bucks for the food coupon.
